Producers Doug Steeden and Laurette Bourassa of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, formed Jordan Films Inc. in October 2005 and specialize in producing and co-producing feature films, television movies, series, documentaries and corporate videos.

Doug has been involved in the film and television industry for over 35 years including senior management positions with national television networks, pay television services and sound stage production facilities. His vast experience and knowledge of producing, budgeting, project development, and licensing for film and television projects are invaluable to the success of Jordan Films. Among others, Doug has worked with ABC Family/Disney (Holiday in Handcuffs), Granada America (Santa Baby, 12 Days of Christmas Eve), Craig Anderson Productions (For the Love of a Child), Hallmark Channel (Dear Prudence), CBC (Heartland Pilot, Wild Roses Pilot), Accent Entertainment (The Walter Gretzky Story), 49th Parallel (Ginger Snaps Back, Ginger Snaps – The Beginning).

Laurette has been involved in the industry since the mid-1980’s and possesses a wealth of production knowledge …. from major feature film and television productions (Snow Day, The Christmas Blessing, Ginger Snaps Back, Ginger Snaps – The Beginning, The Walter Gretzky Story), television series (Mentors, Jake & The Kid, Canadian Idol), to historic live events (The Heritage Classic). Respected within the industry, she brings a creative and professional expertise necessary for the successful completion of all productions.

In September 2008, Jordan Films commenced principal photography of “When Calls The Heart” with Believe Pictures of Los Angeles. This family television movie, directed by Michael Landon Jr. (Saving Sarah Cain, The Last Sin Eater), stars Maggie Grace (Taken, Lost, The Fog) and Stephen Amell (Heartland, Rent-a-Goalie). Set in 1910 in the beautiful foothills of the Rocky Mountains, “When Calls The Heart” is currently on hiatus until spring of 2009.

In June 2007, Jordan Films together with Vancouver’s Insight Film Studios completed 7-weeks of principal photography at West Edmonton Mall of the feature film “Christmas in Wonderland” directed by James Orr (3 Men and a Baby, Father of the Bride). The cast included Patrick Swayze (Dirty Dancing, Ghost), Carmen Electra (Baywatch, Scary Movie), Chris Kattan (Saturday Night Live, Night at the Roxbury), Preston Lacey (Jackass – The Movie), Tim Curry (Rocky Horror Picture Show, The Three Musketeers), Cameron Bright (The Butterfly Effect, X-Men The Last Stand), Matthew Knight (For The Love of a Child, Cheaper by the Dozen 2), and Zoe and Amy Schlagel (Legally Blonde 2).

Jordan Films first co-production family feature film “Moondance Alexander”, was shot in the summer of 2006 in southern Alberta. Starring Kay Panabaker (CSI, 7th Heaven), Don Johnson (Miami Vice, Tin Cup), Lori Loughlin (Full House, Summerland), Sasha Cohen (Olympic Silver Medalist and 2006 U.S. National Champion), and James Best (Dukes of Hazard). Released theatrically in the fall of 2007, it has received many awards in film festivals around the world. “Moondance Alexander” was in collaboration with Janeen and Michael Damian (The Young and the Restless, Hot Tamale) of Los Angeles based Riviera Films.

Besides co-productions, Jordan Films is in development of numerous feature films, television movies and series, and live to tape events. Announcements will be made closer to production dates. Jordan Films also continues to seek documentaries, lifestyle and educational projects and is interested in partnering in all stages of production with local, national and international experienced producers.
